* Year 1414 AH / November 1993 AD: The Security Council adopts Resolution 883, which tightens the economic blockade on Libya, This is within the framework of Lockerbie’s crisis with the United States and Britain.

* Year 1420 AH / September 1999 AD: The first Sirte summit meetings in Libya begin with the participation of 46 African heads of state, The summit decided to establish the African Union.
